This book needs no review. of singable songs, and very easy to use. Everyone should own a copy (or two, for sharing). It is complete and comprehensive for hundreds (thousands). You'll have fun and learn something, too. People who see it for the first time can hardly put it down, and regular users count on it for reference.
I am beyond happy with this book. It is absolutely chock full of songs to sing and has a fun layout and helpful indexes to find the tune you need. I can understand the complaints about the guitar chords included as they're just horrible and hardly worth having but as far as it goes as a songbook it's great. I hope to use this book frequently in the future to learn more songs to sing to my sons and at friend and family gatherings.
a Well Used reference of many Folk & early Rock, Sing-a-Long Songs helpful to singer / songwriters, group singing, parties, campfire sing-a-longs etc.
A fantastic and timeless song book. Great songs and a wonderful way to bring people together. A must have book.
Like some of the other reviewers, I have had to buy a new edition because my old one has fallen aprt. I love opening up the book at random and there is always a song I know. It has traveled from Virginia to Hawaii and from Cabos to Anchorage and on horseback in the Rockies with me. One great thing is that a lot of old blues songs have original lyrics: House of the Rising Sun, Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out-recently by Clapton (unplugged). I have given probably ten copies away as gifts. Sometimes the chords aren't exactly right but the book is for casual, fun playing and singing.
